Writers follow café beat
SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY The Upper Delaware Writers Collective (UDWC) will present two readings in area cafés. The group will perform in Port Jervis on Friday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Café Roxanna, 79 Pike Street, and in Livingston Manor on Friday May 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Peez Leweez coffeehouse. Area writers will be invited to participate in at open-microphone after the formal reading.
Curated by established poet and teacher Mary Greene, UDWC, based in Narrowsburg, NY, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the literary arts in the Upper Delaware region. Activities include workshops, readings and chapbook publications.
UDWC serves as a networking organization to bring writers together and has been recognized for its ongoing contributions to the community, including readings, radio events and the recent publication of two chapbooks, Gatherings and Collective Memory. The group has sponsored poetry contests for area youth. It is a member of the United Poets Coalition.
