Milford holds annual Pear Blossom Festival

MILFORD, PA — Milford’s Annual Pear Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25 at Ann Street Memorial Park. Events include a 2-day Tent Fair, a Saturday morning Pear Bake-Off, a 5K Walk & Run and a Saturday afternoon parade (Sunday rain date) down Broad Street to the park.

The Festival is organized and run by the Milford Business Council, a committee of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, and benefits its tourism activities.

Pick a peck of pickled pears

MILFORD, PA — Pear-Apricot Soup, Pear Cobbler, Pear Butter, Pear Pecan Tart, Pepper Pear Relish and Pear Chutney are but a few of the delectable delights that have been past entries in the Pear Cook-Off competition, held yearly in conjunction with the Pike County Pear Blossom Festival.

Cooks, both young and old, will again have a chance to share their favorite recipe on Saturday, April 24 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Annual Pear Cook-Off, held at the First Presbyterian Church, 308 Broad St.

There will be separate categories for kids under 16 and adults. For entry forms and a list of categories and rules call 570/296-3400 or visit the Pike County Cooperative Extension, Administration Building Basement, 506 Broad Street. Forms are also at local businesses throughout the county. The deadline for entry is April 19.
