Liberty students named to all-state music festival
LIBERTY, NY — Eight Liberty High School music students have
been selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association
(NYSSMA) Area All-State Music Festival to be held at Suffern High School on
Saturday afternoon, November 2.
Selections are based upon NYSSMA solo festival ratings and
director recommendations. There are over 1,500 applicants, top music students
in over 35 school districts from Rockland, Greene, Ulster, Orange and Sullivan
counties.
Students selected to participate in the Area All-State
Orchestra are violinist Erin Slaver and violist Amber Miller. Vocalists
Stephanie Donaghy, Lorelei Reynolds and Morgan Hardy have been selected to
participate in the Area All-State Chorus. Chris Paddock (tuba), James Neptune
(French horn) and Joe Maxwell (percussion) have been selected to participate in
the Area All-State Band.
The students, active members of the performing ensembles at
Liberty High School, are under the direction of High School Orchestra Director
Pat Lubin, High School Chorus Director Alan Crabb and High School Band Director
Mike Williams.
