High school gets more rooms
By TOM KANE
LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Three more rooms were handed over to
the Sullivan West High School staff this past week by their construction
company.
Students and teachers will now have access to a brand new
band room, a music room and a technical education classroom.
School Superintendent Michael Johndrow made the announcement
at the board meeting on October 16.
“The gymnasium and auditorium will be completed by November
10,” Johndrow said.
The Narrowsburg building will be completed very soon and the
Delaware Valley and Jeffersonville/Youngsville reconstruction will be completed
by December, he said.
In unrelated business, Johndrow reported that last week, the
school bus in the Klondike area near Hancock halted its rounds when a wire was
downed across the road in a wind storm. It was later discovered that the wire
was a telephone wire and not live.
“The driver did exactly what she was supposed to do as a
precaution,” Johndrow said.
