Power line clarification
Last week we accurately reported that a Norfolk-Southern
Railroad (N-S) spokesman said no right-of-way agreement exists for a 500 kV DC
power line proposed by the Toronto, Canada firm, Pegasus Power Systems.
On October 13, N-S spokesman Rudy Husband said that an
internal communications problem at N-S had produced incomplete information last
week.
While he reiterated that no agreement exists with the N-S,
a subsidiary of N-S, Thoroughbred Technologies and Telecommunications has been
working with Pegasus on right-of-way leasing and is “close to completing an
agreement,” Husband said.
