LIBERTY, NY — An exhibition of Buff McAllister’s fiber art and Barbara Brown’s porcelain pottery will open with a wine and gourmet treats reception on Saturday, October 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Catskill Artists Gallery, 38 South Main Street. The show will run through November 20.

McAllister holds a degree in textiles and clothing from the University of Delaware. Living in Youngsville, she sews, weaves, makes polymer clay jewelry and does many other kinds of handwork.

She recently completed a children’s book with Hank Schneider, “Sewing with Felt,” published by Boyd’s Mills Press. “I come from an artistic family, particularly in the textile field, and learned to sew at an early age,” she said.

Barbara Brown, a potter for 20 years, lives in Lake Huntington where she runs Sunshine Cottage Bed and Breakfast and makes pottery. She has studied, apprenticed and taught ceramics at the Silvermine Guild School for the Arts in New Canaan, Connecticut.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Thursday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
