Residents assist creation of regional vision
DAMASCUS, PA — Some 82 concerned citizens, business leaders,
municipal officials and environmental stewards came to the Damascus Community
Center on September 29 to learn about the Visioning the Upper Delaware
initiative and express concerns about documented population growth and
development in Wayne, Pike, Sullivan and Orange counties.
Following a potluck supper and presentation, Laurie Stuart,
right, publisher of The River Reporter, monitored a group discussion where
audience members outlined 10 ideas to encourage community involvement in
regional thinking.
The next evening meeting will be held on Thursday,
October 9 at 6:00 p.m. at the Berlin Township Community Center.
