Exhibit collects traditional fly tying patterns from Poland

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum will open the first international exhibit of flies on October 1, featuring an extensive collection of contemporary, aesthetic and traditional fly patterns from both amateur and professional Polish fly tiers.

In early 2003, Maciek Gorecki, a recent Polish immigrant to the United States, and Jim Krul developed a program that invited all members of the Polish fly fishing community to contribute their favorite patterns. All flies will be catalogued, translated into English and submitted to the museum by the end of summer. Upon receipt, Poul Jorgensen, recognized as the world ambassador of fly tying, will manage patterns and prepare flies for this exhibit.
