Chant Realtors pledge to Pike’s uninsured
NEWTON, NJ — The Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation (NMHF)
announced a personal gift from the principals of Chant Realtors, Davis Chant,
Pete Helms and John Schmitt, to the Pike County Health Fund, which assists uninsured
and underinsured residents of Pike County to obtain vital screening and diagnostic
services.
The fund is an important part of the $6 million capital campaign
launched by NMHF in October, 2002. To date, more than $190,000 has been pledged
to the local fund and more than $5 million has been pledged to the overall capital
campaign.
Michael Dickerson and Joseph Biondo chair the local fund; both
men are respected residents of the area and have stepped forward to assemble
an impressive group of leaders to work towards the local fund’s goal of $250,000.
When this goal has been reached, the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation will
invest the money and match the interest earned over a three-year period.
The partners of Chant Realtors were helpful in getting the
Milford Health and Wellness Center started and they continue to be major supporters
of the center not only through their gift, but in their personal interest in
the success of the facility.
On behalf of Helms and Schmitt, Chant said, “I want to thank
the Newton Memorial Hospital and its foundation for the concern it has shown
for all of our families and friends’ wellness and quality of life through the
services offered at the center.”
The Milford Health and Wellness Center Health Education Conference
Room will be named in honor of Chant’s, Helms’ and Schmitt’s parents.
