Republicans campaign
in Lackawaxen
LACKAWAXEN, PA — The much-anticipated Congressman never showed
up, but just about every other Republican in Pike County did last Friday
night.
Pike County Court Judge candidate Joe Kameen hosted an evening
reception at the Lackawaxen House on July 25.
Rep. Don Sherwood was to have been the guest of honor, but
Kameen reported that a late debate in Washington had undone the Congressman’s
plans. Sherwood sent along a ringing endorsement for the Milford attorney
and current assistant district attorney.
Kameen, in turn, thanked those on hand for their support.
He was unruffled when a bat soared through the room as he spoke. “Give him
a voter registration card,” he said.
Referring to the many nearby historic sites, Kameen said they
were among the important things that give quality to life in Pike County,
a quality that he pledged to protect for generations to come.
Kameen, pictured in the second row, center, was joined by
other Pike notables and candidates including seated, from the left: Centa
Quinn, retired chief clerk; Joyce Z. Helms, prothonotary and clerk of the
courts; Kathy Hummel, chair of the Republican Party; Hon. Gudrun Quinn, senior
