Narrowsburg celebrates Independence Day on July 4 and
5
NARROWSBURG, NY — Before the Independence Day parade on
July 5, live music, rides and vendors will occupy the Firemen’s Field
(Lander’s Campground) from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4.
The Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce has organized this family event,
where alcohol will not be served until 6:00 p.m.
“The Chamber of Commerce is really pleased to provide
this family day in Narrowsburg. I can remember as a child growing up
in Narrowsburg, all of the wonderful events, and I am happy to provide
this experience for my children,” John Grund President
of the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce said.
The parade will line up on July 5 at 10:30 a.m. on Bridge
Street by Narrowsburg Motor Sales and will proceed at 12:00 noon down
Erie Avenue, then along Main Street, and on to the Firemen’s Field (Lander’s
Campground), where a day full of activities will conclude with fireworks
at dusk.
Fire trucks will be judged along the parade route. The
fire department welcomes people to bring any fire trucks, marching units
or floats.
In addition, beauty queens representing each fire department
will be invited to enter a contest in which beauty and writing ability
will serve as criteria. Each contestant must write an essay about the
improvements she would like to see in her town.
A full day at the Firemen’s Field is planned on Saturday
with a finale of fireworks at dusk.
