IDA V. ANTOSH
JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Ida Victoria Antosh, a retired bank teller,
died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the Emerson Health Care Center in Emerson,
NJ. She was 89 years old.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Wilhelmina Kuspert Brockner,
she was born on March 13, 1914, in Jeffersonville. She was the widow of John
Antosh.
Survivors include 13 nephews and nieces and their spouses;
Alan and Ruth Brockner, Arlene and George Young, Russell and Lois Brockner,
John and Joann Brockner, Peggy and Frederick Steffens, Jenny and Frank Bauernfeind,
and Paul Brockner, all of North Branch, NY; Josephine and M. Grant Miller
and Michele and Glenn Glassel all of Jeffersonville, NY; Patricia and William
Conklin of Callicoon Center, NY; Patricia Brockner of Sandy, OR; Leslie and
Patrick Davis of Gresham, OR; and Elizabeth “Beth” and Todd Gorton of upstate
New York; several grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins. She was predeceased
by two brothers, William Brockner and John Brockner, and a sister, Wilhelmina
“Dolly” Brockner.
Graveside services and burial of the cremains were made at
the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus and Century Roads, Paramus,
NJ.
HELEN VALERAN BUKOWSKI MAZZGA BROESSLER
HAWLEY, PA — Helen Valeran Bukowski Mazzga Broessler died Wednesday,
June 11, 2003 at home. She was 97 years old.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Zadwaski Bukowski,
she was born in Greenwich, CT. She was a housewife and a member of Queen
of Peace RC Church.
Survivors include her son, John Mazzga of Hawley; her sister,
Victoria Giblin of Hawley; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren,
one great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by a son, George.
A funeral mass was held Saturday in Queen of Peace Roman Catholic
Church, Hawley.
MARY MCGOWAN CAMPBELL
Mary McGowan Campbell died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at her
residence under the care of hospice. She was 59 years old.
She was a native of New York, and formerly lived in Ludowici.
She served in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict. She retired after
20 years of service as a social worker. She served 10 years as director of
Ford in Culpepper, VA.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Combs of Ludowici,
and Mary Todd of Screven; two sons, Paul Jr. McGowan and Shawn McGowan of
Ludowici; four sisters, Jacoba Campfield of Narrowsburg, NY, Francis Krause
of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, Kathleen Young of Beaufort, SC, and Pat Cooke
of Seabrook, SC; two brothers, Bernard Young, Jr. of Cochecton, NY and Frank
Young of Biloxi, MS; ex-husband, Paul McGowan; 12 grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Walthourville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
SALVATORE DEMAURO
NARROWSBURG, NY — Salvatore “Sal” Demauro, a retired carpenter
and construction consultant for Narrowsburg Lumber, as well as a former Town
of Tusten Code Enforcement Officer and a resident of the area for 51 years,
died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at home. He was 79 years old.
The son of Salvatore Sr. and Louise D’Arco DeMauro, he was
born on October 25, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY.
He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during World
War II, a member of the Tusten Lions Club, the Narrowsburg Fire Dept., the
Beaver Brook Rod and Gun Club and the Honesdale Gold Club. He was also the
founder of the Delaware Valley Little Fellows League.
Survivors include his wife, June at home; four children, Linda
Jobmann and her husband Ron of Clinton, MD, Barbara DeMauro and her fiancé Richard
Maloney of Narrowsburg, NY, Sal DeMauro, Jr. of Narrowsburg, NY and David
Demauro and his wife Sybil of Santa Barbara, CA; one sister, Anna Flash of
FL; two brothers, Fred DeMauro of NJ and John DeMauro of SC; four grandchildren,
Brian, Bradley, Justin and Meghan as well as several nieces and nephews.

CARL DIGIROLAMO
BETHEL, NY — Carl Joseph Digirolamo, a self employed mechanic
and a two year area resident, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at the Seelig Division
of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 66 years old.
The son of the late Michael and Mary Yazzetti, he was born
July 28, 1936, in the Bronx.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Rivera of Hopewell Junction;
two sons, Carl Digirolamo and Anthony Digirolamo, both of Middletown; a brother,
John Digirolamo of White Plains; two sisters, Mary and Helen, both of the
Bronx; and ten grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at St. Denis
Church, in Hopewell Junction.
Interment was made in St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction.
ROBERT C. FUEHRER
HAWLEY, PA — Robert C. Fuehrer, former PA State Trooper, died
June 20, 2003 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. He was 60 years
old.
He was PA Constable for Wayne County, did security work for
PP&L and Caesar’s Cove Haven and had worked at Danville State Hospital
as a psychiatric aide.
He was a member of Honesdale Lodge #218, member of Scottish
Rite of Valley Bloomsburg, 32 Degree, member of Friendship Volunteer Fire
Company and a volunteer for Wayne/Pike American Red Cross.
Fuehrer was the son of the late Howard Fuehrer and Thelma Lunger
Fuehrer Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Fuehrer; two daughters,
Wendy Sue and Heidi Ellen both of Hawley, PA; one son, Christopher Robert
of Hawley, PA; two grandsons, Tyler James and Pasquale Robert; one brother,
Howard Fuehrer of Berwick, PA; two sisters, Mary Ward of Bloomsburg, PA and
Sherry Campbell of MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
ALBERT K. OBERHOLTZER
LAKEVILLE, PA — Albert K. Oberholtzer, payroll clerk, died
on June 17, 2003 at Julia Ribaudo Senior Care Center, Lake Ariel, PA. He
was 101 years old.
Son of the late Cleta and Warren Oberholtzer, he was born in
Portland, PA.
He was a volunteer at the Hawley Public Library and was an
avid card and checkers player.
Survivors include friends, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Krol of Honesdale,
PA and Mr. and Mrs. James McTiernan of Scranton, PA.
JACQUELINE PEDERSEN
BARRYVILLE, NY — Jacqueline “Jackie” Pedersen, a retired department
manager of K-Mart in Matamoras, PA. and a 20-year area resident, died Tuesday,
June 17, 2003, at her home. She was 64 years old.
The daughter of the late John and Louise Pariapiano Lawrence,
she was born September 2, 1938 in Scranton, PA.
She attended St. Anthony’s of Padua Roman Catholic Church in
Yulan.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Bruce Pedersen,
at home; three sons, Stephen Lawrence of Rock Hill, Bruce Pedersen Jr. of
Graham, NC, and Brian Pedersen of Barryville; a daughter and son-in-law,
Karen and Kim Byron of Matamoras, PA; two brothers, Joe Lawrence and Paul
Lawrence, both of Long Island; two sisters, Ona Buonocore of Scranton, PA,
and Edna Norris of Staten Island; three grandchildren, Danielle, Bruce and
Alex; a close friend and adopted daughter, Dawn Halvorsen of Highland Lake;
and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Carl Pedersen
who died in 1983.
Burial was made at the Cemetery of the Resurrection in Staten
Island.
