SANDRA J. KNAPP
HAWLEY, PA — Sandra J. Knapp, former resident of Lords Valley
and Honesdale, PA died June 4, 2003, at her home. She was 52 years old.
The daughter of the late Nathan and Louella Seig Fotusky, she
was born in Honesdale, PA.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Bernard L. Knapp,
Sr.; three daughters, Tammy Lyons of Thompson Falls, MT, Melissa Gasiorek
of Lackawaxen, PA, and Ethelyn Harnish of Greeley, PA; three sons, Timothy
Knapp of Kimbles, Hawley, PA, Bernard L. Knapp, Jr. and Joshua Knapp at home;
three sisters, Claire Padwa of Pleasant Mount, PA, Elizabeth Fotusky of Scranton,
PA and special sister Rae Ellen Finan; four brothers, John Fotusky of Honesdale,
PA, Nathan Fotusky of Beach Lake, PA, Bernard Fotusky of Hawley and Allen
Fotusky of Honesdale, PA; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony.
Memorial service will be held at the Forest Volunteer Fire
Hall, Kimbles, PA on Sunday, June 15, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Cremation will take place at H.G. Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.
EUGENE A. L’HERNAULT
NAPLES, FL — Eugene A. L’Hernault, a retired beverage business
owner and former area resident died June 3, 2003 in Naples, FL. He was 78.
Formerly of Damascus, PA, L’Hernault moved to Naples in 1999.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Regina of Staten Island,
NY, Dianne Scalza of Long Island, NY and Karen Civitella of Waymart, PA;
two sisters, Betty Bunyan of Glen Rock, NJ and Joan Swanson of East Lyme,
CT; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia.
ALYCE D. SEEKINS
JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Alyce D. Seekins died Thursday, May 29,
2003 at Bethany Village. She was 84 years old.
The daughter of Henry V. and Alice M. Beaton, she was born
May 22, 1919 in Rhode Island.
She was the head of Volunteer Services at Horton Memorial Hospital,
Middletown, NY, for many years. A national all-breeds dog show judge for
the American Kennel Club for 5 years, she raised and raced Samoyed sled dogs
since childhood. She was the author of a chapter of “The Complete Samoyed,”
edited by Robert and Dolly Ward, a major reference for the breed. She and
her late husband, Rev. Robert J. Seekins Jr., also rescued animals from Great
Pyrennees dogs to Shih Tzus.

PATRICIA D. MAIN
LIBERTY, NY — Patricia D. Main, a retired clerk-typist for
Bakers Mutual Insurance in Lynbrook, NY, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Westchester
Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. She was 64 years old.
The daughter of Worthington and Margaret Earl Stokes, she was
born on July 9, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY.
Survivors include her husband, Donald, at home; two children,
Lori Merriweather of Port Jervis, NY and Robert Deming of Woodburne, NY;
three sisters, Margaret Logan, Elizabeth Slater and Priscilla Lent; one brother,
Earl Stokes; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

RICHARD RAYMOND LAVEZZOLA
GREENTOWN, PA — Richard Raymond Lavezzola, formerly of Hawley,
PA, died on June 6, 2003, at home.
He was a landscaper and tree worker and an avid fisherman and
trapper.
He was the son of Raymond Lavezzola and Sandra Francesconi
Alters.
Survivors include stepfather Gene Alters of Tafton, PA; one
sister, Lisa Martin of Hawley, PA; two brothers, Michael and Luke, both of
Hawley, PA; one grandfather, Alex Lavezzola of Lodi, NJ; one niece and one
nephew.
He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Matthew.
