New construction for Sullivan

MONTICELLO, NY — The pictured architectural drawing of the Crystal Run Healthcare building going up at Sullivan County’s Emerald Corporate Park is only one of the projects crossing planning commissioner Alan Sorensen’s desk for review.

Groundbreaking for the 76,000 square-foot Crystal Run Healthcare building in Rock Hill is scheduled in early July.

Monticello’s Mountain Mall, the former Shop-Rite shopping mall on East Broadway, is being reconfigured and given a new façade, prior to the fall opening of the ALDI supermarket. Half the former supermarket space, some 15,000 square feet, will be divided for a second national franchise retail store. In addition, a 12,000 expansion is being added to the west wing of the mall to house another national retail outlet.

Aside from his county planning review, Sorensen reviews all Empire Zone building plans, and both the Crystal Run and the Mountain Mall projects are taking advantage of Empire Zone benefits.
