Get hooked by Just Fishing
at Grey Towers
MILFORD, PA — As part of Grey Towers’ Off the Shelf cultural
program, museum specialist Rebecca Philpot will share some of Gifford Pinchot’s
favorite fishing stories at a public program on Saturday, June 7 at 7:00
p.m.
The evening, named after Pinchot’s book, Just Fishing, will
also include a look at Grey Towers’ historic fishing collection. Pinchot,
a conservationist and past governor of PA, was an avid angler who loved fishing
the streams of Pike County. He also wrote a book about the expedition he
led to the South Seas between his two gubernatorial terms.
The Pinchot family donated Grey Towers to the Forest Service
in 1963. Today it serves as a museum, a conservation education center and
a conference facility for environmental planning.
The program is free and open to the public. For information
call 570/296-9630.
