LaBuda earns national award

UTICA, NY — Marc LaBuda, son of Kathleen and Frank LaBuda of Wurtsboro and a second year ROTC Cadet at SUNY Utica, received the National Sojourners Award at the 85th Annual Chancellor’s Review and Awards Ceremony held at Syracuse University on April 3. This award was presented to LaBuda as an Army ROTC Cadet in the top twenty-five percent of his academic class who has demonstrated the ideals of Americanism by deed and conduct, and has shown potential for outstanding leadership in the United States Army. He is studying civil engineering.

LaBuda’s older brother Kurt is serving with the United States Army somewhere in Iraq.
