Support Our Troops Rally

MONTICELLO, NY — The Sullivan County VFW Council announces a Support Our Troops Rally at the Sullivan County Government Center Veteran’s War Memorial on North Street on May 4 at 2:00 p.m. A spokesperson from the VFW said this rally is one of hundreds that will be held nationwide this weekend by VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW members as part of VFW Loyalty Day.

“It’s important to our military who are fighting for our freedom to know that America stands united in support of them. This rally is one way of demonstrating that,” said Eric J. Nystrom, SC VFW commander. “Loyalty Day is a long standing VFW tradition and we felt this day would be perfect for this event.”

VFW National Council of Administration member Jack Simon will give the keynote address, and Sullivan County Legislature Chair Leni Binder will present a proclamation in support of VFW Loyalty Day. Legislator Chris Cunningham and Judge Frank LaBuda will also participate in the ceremony.
