Sullivan West honors winter athletes

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Sullivan West coaches took the opportunity to celebrate the efforts of their players in the now-concluded winter season at an awards presentation in the 1994 gym on Friday, February 28. Both varsity and junior varsity coaches cited individual and team achievements and introduced the players on their teams. Varsity coaches awarded trophies to key members of their teams as follows: Alpine skiing — Sportsmanship Award: Danielle Snedeker, Most Improved Male Skier: Greg Brewer, Most Valuable Female Skier: Katie Thelman and Most Valuable Male Skier: Kevin McCormack. Indoor Track — Most Improved Female: Andrea Wagner, Most Valuable Female: Jessica Wagner. Most Improved Male: Joe Layman, Highest scoring Male: Cary Klemm. Varsity Girls’ Basketball — Best Defensive Senior Player: Michelle Peters, Best Offensive Senior Player: JoAnna DiCostanza. Cheerleaders — Most Improved: Vanessa Houghtaling, Most Spirited: Jessica Weyandt. Boys’ Basketball — Best Defensive Player: Sean Semenetz, Most Valuable Player: Brent Rose.
