Delaware plans for 2003

By TOM KANE

HORTONVILLE, NY — In 2003, the Town of Delaware will continue to reconstruct its sidewalks and develop its town park.

“We’re looking for a grant to finish the sidewalks,” said supervisor Bill Moran.

“The plan is to pave on the east side of Upper Main from Gregory Street going south,” Moran said. “We’ll pave as much as we can until the grant money runs out.”

Last year, the town paved Lower Main Street from the library to the Callicoon Saloon using a grant from New York State Senator John Bonacic.

Work will also continue at the Callicoon Creek Park, he said.

A group of citizens have presented a private plan to build a suspension bridge over the Callicoon Creek for a path to the Delaware Youth Center.
