Cops nail hunting violators

NARROWSBURG, NY — Police were busy locally during the first week of big game rifle season, making 39 arrests, which amounted to a total of $4,687.50 in fines.

Three charges are still pending.

Department of Environmental Conservation Police and state troopers at Narrowsburg made the following arrests for violations of the NYS Environmental Conservation Law during the opening days of the 2002 big game season.

November 18, 2002

In Tusten Town Court, before Justice Thomas Nuttycomb:

David D. Delevo, 44, of Selden, NY pleaded guilty to trespassing on private lands and was fined $50;

David M. Dormer, 36, of North Babylon, NY pleaded guilty to trespassing on private lands and was fined $50;

John L. Rosenberg, 38, of North Babylon, NY pleaded guilty to trespassing on private lands and was fined $50;

Dominick G. Agnese, 44, of Bethpage, NY pleaded guilty to feeding deer, failure to carry carcass tags, failure to wear back tags, hunting over bait for white tail deer and was fined $250;

Ahmad Moraadi, 38, of Hollis Hills, NY pleaded guilty to feeding deer, hunting over bait for white-tail deer, failure to wear back tags and was fined $225;

Stanley Starr, 62, of Middletown, NY pleaded guilty to improperly tagging a deer and was fined $250;

Filippo Iorio, 48, of Centereach, NY pleaded guilty to possession of an untagged deer and was fined $50;

John Conley, 34, of Rocky Point, NY agreed to a civil compromise on a charge of having a loaded gun in a motor vehicle and was fined $102.50;

Eric Henry, 32, of Staten Island, NY was issued an appearance ticket for possession of an untagged deer;

Michael Vollaro, 34, of Staten Island NY was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Tusten Court for possession of an untagged deer;

Donald Vorhees, 60, of Richfield Park, NJ agreed to a civil compromise on three counts of failing to tag white-tail deer, three counts of taking deer over bait, three counts of taking a doe deer without a permit, three counts of illegal possession of white-tail deer and was fined $1,905;

Albert Knaub, 47, of Richfield Park, NJ agreed to a civil compromise for feeding deer within 500 feet of a roadway, importing deer into the state without a permit, illegally possessing wildlife, failure to properly tag deer, feeding white-tail deer, taking deer over bait, and false statement of license and was fined $550.

November 21, 2002

Alekander Fara, 55, of Ridgewood, NY agreed to a civil compromise for illegally taking a deer with the aid of artificial light, illegally taking deer with the aid of bait, hunting without a license and was fined $1,205.

In the Town of Bethel Court:

Mark Amster, 21, of East Brunswick, NJ was arraigned for illegal possession of a doe deer and for third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a loaded .45 caliber pistol). Amster was committed to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
