Correction

The reason Jonathan Drapkin did not speak to the not-for-profit, property tax exemption issue presented by Lumberland Supervisor John LiGreci at the Utica meeting of the Governor’s Task Force on Local Government Reform was that Drapkin did not attend that session.

Drapkin, executive director of the Gerry Foundation and former Sullivan County Manager said Thursday that of the six scheduled hearings around the state, he had been required only to attend the Kingston session, and did not make the long trip to Utica.

“As far as the issue of modifying not-for-profit tax exemptions is concerned, it’s something that our legislature felt strongly about and that we worked on extensively when I was with Sullivan County. I agree with him about it,” Drapkin said.
