MARGARET BACHOTA
HONESDALE, PA — Margaret Kulbak Bachota of Honesdale died Wednesday,
October 16, 2002 at the Julia Ribaudo Home in Lake Ariel. She was 84.
She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Dutko Kulbak.
She was the widow of John L. Bachota who died in 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence of Orlando, FL and Jerry
of Honesdale; a daughter, Susan Lyon of Scranton; a sister, Julia Popovich
of Johnstown; 19 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Wilcox in 1996;
a son, Chester in 2002; a granddaughter, Jerry Lynn Toothman; a brother, Stephen
Kulbak and two sisters, Anna Hruska and Mary Popovich.
Services were private, per her request. Burial was in St. Mary
Magdalen’s Cemetery in Honesdale.

FRANCIS J. FARRELL
HONESDALE, PA — Francis J. Farrell of Honesdale, formerly of
Bloomfield, NJ, a retired 20-year skilled technical machinist for the General
Motors Corp. in Clark, NJ, died Friday, October 18, 2002 at the Ellen Memorial
Health Care Center in Honesdale. He was 87.
Son of the late Frank J. and Anna McGraw Farrell, he was born
July 20, 1914 in Egypt in Wayne County. He was the widower of Gladys J. Davis
Farrell who died April 20, 2001.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale
and attended Mass daily. He was a devoted husband and caretaker of his wife
during her illness.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Patricia Smith-Slawinski of
Beach Lake; a brother, Paul of Honesdale; four sisters, Julia Leonard of Pleasant
Mount, Ann Lynch of Brooklyn, NY, Elizabeth O’Hara of Clarks Green and Teresa
Farrell of Washington, DC; two step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, John and two sisters, Beatrice
Farrell and Mary O’Hara.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary Magdalen
Church in Honesdale. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery in Honesdale.

MAGDALEN HUGO KLEBER
HAWLEY, PA — Magdalen Hugo Kleber of Hawley, formerly of Bound
Brook, NJ, a cook for Tink Wig Forest, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October
23, 2002 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. She was 80.
Daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Hugo, she was born in
Harwood.
She was a member of Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in
Hawley, a member of the Forest Volunteer Fire Department and its Ladies Auxiliary
and the Central Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jacob Kleber; four
daughters, Mary Canavesio of Somerset, NJ, Dorothy Hagan of Lebanon, NJ, Margurite
Hambrick of Bound Brook, NJ and Veronica Baskin of Flemington, NJ; 13 grandchildren
and 22 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was offered at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic
Church in Hawley. The Rev. William B. Healey, pastor, officiated. Burial was
in the parish cemetery.

RICHARD GEORGE MITCHELL
HAWLEY, PA — Richard George Mitchell of Hawley, a construction
laborer, and a 15-year area resident, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at Wayne
Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. He was 59.
Son of the late George and Anna Hrab Mitchell, he was born in
Pittston.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith, served in the US Army during
the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the Wilson-Kelch American Legion
Post 311 in Hawley, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Jersey.
Survivors include a daughter, Beth Ann Troast of Hawley; a sister,
Ann Margaret Pender of Flemington, NJ and a grandson, Cody Troast of Hawley.
Services were held at the Wilson-Kelch American Legion Post
311 in Hawley. Cremation took place in the H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg.
MILDRED I. STROSAHL
HONESDALE, PA — Mildred I. Strosahl of Honesdale, died Thursday,
October 17, 2002 at the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale. She
was 90.
Daughter of the late William Muir and Grace Cook Stephens, she
was born in Equinunk. She was the widow of Bernard C. Strosahl who died in
1984.
She was a graduate of Honesdale High School, Class of 1932.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Honesdale and was one of the
five eldest members of the church which celebrated its 160th anniversary this
year. She was very active with the, Daughters of the American Revolution,
serving at different periods as Regent and Chaplain.
Survivors include a son, Rev. David and wife Rev. Cynthia of
Southington, CT; a daughter, Barbara Jennings of Honesdale; three sisters,
Eleanor Fisher of Endwell, NY, Dorothy Seiber of Binghamton, NY and Mary Ellen
Linkroum of Vestal, NY; four grandchildren; Robert, Jr. and Kim Jennings,
Andrew and Sarah Strosahl; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, infant Gladys, Maude and
Marjorie Stephens; and three brothers, Kermit, Edward and William.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Honesdale.
The Rev. Mark E. Heiner, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Glen Dyberry Cemetery
in Honesdale.
