Golfers wanted for Kiwanis Tourney

TENNANAH LAKE — The Callicoon Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, September 8. This marks the 13th annual tourney held at the Tennanah Lake Golf and Tennis Club. Shotgun start for foursomes is 1:00 p.m.

A brand new Pontiac Sunfire, courtesy of Roche’s Garage in Callicoon, has been provided for a hole-in-one (first hole-in-one wins car). There’s a 50/50 raffle and awards for Best Men’s Team, Best Women’s Team and Best Mixed Team.

A fee of $60 per golfer ($65 after Aug. 31) covers greens fee and cart, banquet, barbecue and one-hour open bar. The tournament benefits the youth of the area through the Callicoon Kiwanis, which is sponsoring the event. Area businesses are sponsoring each of the 18 holes. “Tiger Woods won’t be there; neither will Jack Nicholas. But the real stars of this tournament are all of the golfers, businesses and other individuals who come together each year to support the efforts of Callicoon Kiwanis in its mission to assist the youth of the area,” said Keith Robisch, Chairperson of the Tournament Committee. Sign up early, there are 72 slots to be filled.

For more information call Keith at 845/932-8436, or e-mail him at robisch@warwick.net.
