LIBERTY - The Sullivan County Community
College (SCCC) Foundation will host its third annual
"Start of Something Great" golf tournament
on Thursday, August 8 at Grossinger's Country Club.
SCCC Foundation Chairperson Robert
Ernst and Arnold Seletsky are co-chairs of the event.
The $110 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with
cart, G.P.S. yardage system, on-course refreshments,
lunch, a Steak Bake dinner, cocktail hour, raffles,
prizes and giveaways. The day kicks off at 11:30 a.m.
with registration and lunch. A 12:30 p.m. shotgun
will start the scramble competition. The tournament
is open to all players, with prizes awarded to the
top finishers.
The M & M Automotive Center in
Liberty will offer a 2002 Ford Explorer to the first
lucky player to sink a hole-in-one on the eleventh
hole. The SCCC Foundation will award $50,000 to the
first golfer to hit an ace off the 17th tee. Spalding
Sports Worldwide will award a set of its Top-Flite
XL 2000 irons to a hole-in-one winner.
Proceeds from the day's events will
benefit the SCCC Foundation's capital campaign fund
drive. Funds from "The Start of Something Great"
drive will go toward construction of the college's
first student residence hall, as well as toward scholarships
and other projects that help student success at SCCC.
