LIBERTY - The Sullivan County Community College (SCCC) Foundation will host its third annual "Start of Something Great" golf tournament on Thursday, August 8 at Grossinger's Country Club.

SCCC Foundation Chairperson Robert Ernst and Arnold Seletsky are co-chairs of the event. The $110 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, G.P.S. yardage system, on-course refreshments, lunch, a Steak Bake dinner, cocktail hour, raffles, prizes and giveaways. The day kicks off at 11:30 a.m. with registration and lunch. A 12:30 p.m. shotgun will start the scramble competition. The tournament is open to all players, with prizes awarded to the top finishers.

The M & M Automotive Center in Liberty will offer a 2002 Ford Explorer to the first lucky player to sink a hole-in-one on the eleventh hole. The SCCC Foundation will award $50,000 to the first golfer to hit an ace off the 17th tee. Spalding Sports Worldwide will award a set of its Top-Flite XL 2000 irons to a hole-in-one winner.

Proceeds from the day's events will benefit the SCCC Foundation's capital campaign fund drive. Funds from "The Start of Something Great" drive will go toward construction of the college's first student residence hall, as well as toward scholarships and other projects that help student success at SCCC.
