A reading incentive

NARROWSBURG — As a partner with the American Library Association, McDonald's recognizes the value of reading at a young age and the need for family members to not only promote, but also set an example when it comes to reading. As a result, McDonald's created the "Check It Out" Summer Reading Program. Hundreds of families, schools and libraries throughout the Tri-State area have adopted "Check It Out," which offers an added incentive, a free Happy Meal, as their summer reading program of choice.

Students in grades K-4 can participate by picking up a McDonald's "Check It Out" booklet from local libraries. To request a booklet, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: McDonald's "Check It Out Summer" Reading Program, c/o MWW, One Meadowlands Plaza, 6th floor, East Rutherford, NJ 07073. Limit two booklets per household.
