Still waiting on the PAC
BETHEL — The Gerry Foundation
(GF) requested an extension on the delivery date of
the Final General Environmental Impact Statement (FGEIS)
for its proposed Bethel Performing Arts Center (PAC)
at the June 21 meeting of the Bethel Town Board. The
board granted the extension. The FGEIS was originally
due by the end of June.
The FGEIS, a finalized form of the
draft environmental impact statement delivered last
month to the town, is the next step in the process
of bringing the PAC off the drawing board and into
reality. With a delivery date of late July, final
work on the project may not see final approval until
October of this year. This takes into account the
required review time between submissions.
In its request, GF’s legal counsel
cited the “complexity and volume” of feedback
received, as the main reason for requesting the extension.
