Yulan ‘Blue Mass’ scheduled in June

YULAN — The John O’Connor Council of The Knights of Columbus will be saying “thank you” to the area’s uniformed police, fire and emergency services at a special June 9, “Blue Mass” at St. Anthony’s Church in Yulan.

Knights of Columbus spokesman Anthony LaRuffa said the non-denominational service is partially in response to the September 11 disaster in New York City. It will be open to all police, fire and EMS personnel and will demonstrate the community’s “support and respect to all uniformed personnel,” he said.

Refreshments will be served following the 11:00 a.m. service.
