Wedding dress retrospective

HURLEYVILLE — A 125-year retrospective of antique and modern wedding dresses will be on view at the Sullivan County Museum beginning Sunday, June 2, through the month of July. Each gown will be presented in a setting appropriate to its era. Other antique and modern wedding memorabilia, including dolls in wedding dresses, trousseaus and albums will also be shown.

An opening reception for the exhibit with live music (donation requested, reservations suggested), will be held on Sunday, June 2 at 2:00 pm. Pamela Moore Epstein will be mistress of ceremonies and provide commentaries. Gourmet chef Clayton Dente will create a historic wedding cake for the occasion.

A special feature of the exhibit will be wedding photos of Sullivan County residents.

This project was made possible in part by a Sullivan County Arts and Heritage Grant funded by the Sullivan County Legislature.
