Sullivan West romps over Goshen

By TOM KANE

JEFFERSONVILLE — Kyle Bright, Bulldog pitcher, was master of the baseball mound last Monday, May 6 limiting Goshen to one run. He also helped his cause with a run-scoring double in the third inning.

The Bulldogs won by a score of a10 to 1. They are now 8 and 3 overall and 4 and 3 in the league.

On two occasions, Goshen threatened to open up the game with bases loaded each time, once in the 4th inning and again in the 5th.

Both times, Bright got out of trouble. The first time by striking out Mike Zan of Goshen to end the threat. The second time he needed the aid of his infield who came up with a well-timed double play to squelch the rally.

The second was the Bulldog’s best inning with four runs scoring after singles by Mike Popollilo and Justin Pinkel and a double by Jake Sauer-Jones.

Four other runs by the Bulldogs came in the 5th as the result of three errors by Goshen.

Bright’s record is now 4 – 1.

Mike Purcell took the loss for Goshen. Their team is now 11 and 5 overall and 7 and three in the league.

The game was not a league game.
