fight at Village Pub

NARROWSBURG. — It’s usually very quiet
in Narrowsburg on a Friday night, but last Friday,
May 3 was an exception.
Joseph Cilino, 26, of Honesdale was
arrested by state police after smashing a glass double
door and entering a residence on Main
Street.
Cilino, who was charged with two felonies,
two misdemeanors and a violation, allegedly got into
a fight at the Village Pub in Narrowsburg and wandered
through the village dazed and injured.
“They said at the pub that he wanted
to pick a fight,” said Trooper Timothy Dowling.
Cilino then left the pub and knocked
at the door of The River Reporter, whose lights were
on since some staff members were still at work.
The time was around 9:15
p.m.
“He knocked at the door and waited
for it to be opened. He had been beaten and questioned
why he had been treated that way. We called 911 and
asked for an ambulance and the state police. We gave
him some ice for his head and waited outside for the
ambulance. He then bolted away,” said The River Reporter
publisher Laurie Stuart.
When the police and EMS
arrived, they began looking for him on Main
Street and heard the cries
of a resident who said loud noises were coming from
the building owned by Thomas Colucci.
“I entered through the broken window
and tried to apprehend him quietly but he resisted,”
Dowling said.
Cilino was subsequently taken to Sullivan
County Jail, where he was held in lieu $10,000 bail.
