New MPC: putting provisions into place

STROUDSBURG — The enactment of Acts 67, 68 & 127 in 2000 made many changes to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC). There is new authority for a variety of planning activities, as well as modifications to comprehensive plans, zoning and subdivision and land development activities. Emphasized in the new MPC are standards for plan consistency, multi-municipal planning activities and updating comprehensive plans.

A new two-session course, “New MPC: Putting the New Provisions into Place,” includes a detailed review of new provisions and an analysis of their impact on municipal planning. How municipalities can put these new provisions into practice in their planning programs is highlighted.

The courses are scheduled on Thursdays, March 14 & 21, at the Stroud Township Building on Route 191 and Fifth Street from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $25.00 per person for both sessions. For more information call 570/296-3400.
