GLEN SPEY — The Lumberland Town Board covered a
variety of issues at their brief February 13, monthly meeting. The
board:
- honored the 4-H Explorers for their food
gathering and fundraising efforts following the World Trade Center
attack;
- approved a new, increased building permit
fee schedule that Supervisor John LiGreci said would bring the
town “into line with other towns our size;”
- named Charles Strom to the Senior Center
Advisory Committee;
- set a 7:50 p.m. public hearing for a local
law to allow time changes for Grievance Day proceedings that would
allow the assessor’s attendance;
- tabled the appointment of Jason Hedler as
a town constable, pending review by the board;
- agreed to contact the Sunshine Hall Library
expressing the town’s desire that a Lumberland resident be appointed
to its board of trustees.
- heard LiGreci report on his continuing efforts
to bring exempt-property tax issues to the attention of state
officials, most recently at a “Government Day” conference in Albany;
- heard Code Enforcement Officer Richard Hotzler
report some $5 million of ongoing new construction currently underway
in town;
- and approved a 7:45 p.m., March 13 opening
for National Park Service Trash bids.
