Cellular phone store opens in Honesdale

HONESDALE — Raymond Russo, of Lake Ariel, is no stranger to the cellular phone business and now he has opened a new Nextel phone store at 1201 Main Street across from the Wayne Hotel.

Russo has been selling Nextel phones and services since December 2000 through the Radio Shack in Hamlin. His Radio Shack franchise has been in operation since 1991.

“I have been impressed with Nextel’s aggressive tower construction in the area and its high quality signal,” Russo said.

The new store is another result of the efforts of Carson Mader and the Greater Honesdale Partnership to bring thriving businesses to Honesdale.
