Journey
ends for
SCCC grads
LOCH SHELDRAKE — Susan Troianello, who received
her associate in applied science degree in Commercial Art at Sullivan
County Community College, was selected to address her fellow graduates
at the December 18 graduation ceremonies, saying it was “a journey.”
Troianello said that when she was preparing her
remarks the journey analogy came to mind. “We hear people speak
of someone’s life being mapped out for them. I would venture to
say that few people have a complete map when they start their voyage,
but I know this: everyone’s map is a treasure map. At the end of
the journey, our riches are the collection of our life’s experiences
and the people we have traveled with.”
During the ceremony, Dr. Mamie Howard Golladay,
college president, congratulated the graduates on achieving their
goals. “This is the beginning of the rest of your life, the start
of something great. Make the most of all that has brought you to
this moment of celebration, and all that will serve you throughout
your career and life.”
Approximately 50 students participated in the graduation
ceremony held in the College’s Seelig Theatre. There were a total
of 100 candidates eligible for graduation, 17 with high honors and
17 with honors.
