Town uses two grants to refurbish town hall

LAKE HUNTINGTON — The Town of Cochecton has refaced its ancient town hall, which was once an old school house.

“We got a grant for $6,000 from Time Warner and we are requesting a $6,250 grant from the Upper Delaware Council (UDC), which was initiated by Senator John Bonacic and Assemblyman Jake Gunther for the river towns,” said town supervisor Sal Indelicato at the town meeting on December 12.

The Bonacic/Gunther effort is an attempt to rejuvenate the economy of the river towns.

The town, which has already finished the reshingling of the outer walls will be reimbursed by the grants.

In other town business, the board scheduled the end-of-year meeting for 6:30 p.m. on December 28 and the reorganization meeting for 7:00 p.m. on January 2.
