Tower above the Hawk’s Nest?

By SARAH KOENIG

HUGUENOT — The Town of Deerpark Planning Board held a meeting Wednesday, December 12 to discuss the request by S.B.A. Properties, Inc., to construct and maintain a wireless telecommunications tower on property owned by the Hawk’s Nest Hunting Club, and the subsequent supplemental application by Nextel Communications of New York for a special use permit to co-locate antennae and other telecommunications equipment.

The area in question is in a Rural Residential Zone.

The initial proposal was submitted on October 11 and a legal notice regarding it was published on November 29.

S.B.A. is also seeking a special permit for a tower ton Towpath Road in Port Jervis, an Industrial Zone.
