WILLIAM T. GRADY, III
BARRYVILLE — William T. Grady, III of Barryville,
a retired fireman from Yonkers, NY and a 32-year area resident,
died Saturday, November 17, 2001 at Eaton Park Nursing Home, Poughkeepsie,
NY. He was 79.
Son of the late William T. and Mary F. Curran Grady,
Jr., he was born June 1, 1922 in New York, NY.
A Navy veteran of WWII, he was a member of the American
Legion Post No. 1363, Eldred; Tusten-Highland VFW Post No. 6427,Eldred;
Beaver Brook Rod and Gun Club. He was also the Multiple Dwelling
Inspector for the Town of Highland.
Survivors include his wife, June L. Paquette Grady,
at home; two sons, Dennis K. and wife Rebecca of Pottstown, PA and
Daniel T. Grady and wife Angela of Mill Rift, PA; a daughter, Coleen
Burns and husband Arthur of Poughkeepsie, NY; a sister, Regina F.
Venuti of Elmsford, NY; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November
21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home, Route 97 in
Barryville. Deacon Glenn Biagi will officiate. Burial will be at
Montoza Cemetery in Barryville.

ROBERT B. GREEN
GLEN WILD — Robert B. Green of Glen Wild, a well-known
Sullivan County businessperson who founded the Robert Green Auto
Dealerships in 1968, died Friday, November 16, 2001 at home. He
was 76.
He was born June 20, 1925 in Newark, NJ.
He was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II. He
graduated from Upsala College with a degree in business administration.
He took over a small Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Dealership in Monticello
and expanded it to include a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Dealership and
Truck and Fleet center. His dealership has gained national recognition
with General Motors and Chrysler Corporation.
He was a former member and treasurer of the Monticello
Kiwanis Club; member of the Monticello Elks Lodge, Sullivan County
Chamber of Commerce, Moose Club, VFW, American Legion and the Temple
Sholom Board of Directors; he was on the Sullivan County BOCES advisory
council; and had won numerous General Motors and Chrysler awards
for outstanding performance.
Survivors include his wife, Selma Goodman Green,
at home; a daughter, Barbara Elbeze of Fairfax, VA; two sons, Lawrence
of New York City and Robert S. of Mongaup Valley; eight grandchildren;
a sister, Norma Angen and husband Jack of California.
Services were held at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral
Home in Monticello. Rabbi Irving Goodman and Rabbi Irwin Tannenbaum
officiated. Burial was in Temple Shalom Cemetery in Monticello.
ELENA L. INGULLI
HAWLEY — Elena L. Ingulli of Hawley died Saturday,
November 10, 2001 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale.
She was 85.
Daughter of the late Verniere and Louise Batto Loria,
she was born in the Bronx, NY. She was the widow of Frank A. Ingulli.
She was a graduate of Hunter College in New York.
She was a member of the Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in
Hawley.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol L. Pierro of
New York City, two sons, Alfred F. of Cheshire, CT and Richard F.
of Hawley; two sisters, Roma DeSerio of New City, NY and Yolanda
Jasilli of Fishkill, NY; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Queen of Peace Church in Hawley.
Burial was in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley.
WILLIAM B. KANE
WEST CHESTER — William B. Kane of West Chester,
PA, a real estate broker working for the Wickert Real Estate Agency,
died Thursday, November 15, 2001. He was 76.
Son of Thomas and Genevieve Maguire Kane, he was
born January 17, 1924 in West Philadelphia.
Kane served as a radio operator on a destroyer escort
in the Pacific during World War II and participated in several naval
battles and invasions against the Japanese.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine, at home;
a brother, Tom of Narrowsburg, NY; a son, William B. Jr. and three
daughters, Anastasia Marinelli, Genevieve Van Wyck and Catherine
Harper, all of Chester County, PA.
The family held a viewing at the Mauger-Givinish
Funeral Home in Malvern, PA on Tuesday, November 20, 2001. A Requiem
Mass will be celebrated in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in West
Chester, PA at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21.
MARIAN L. NOBLE
BOYDS MILLS/CALKINS — Marian L. Noble of Boyds Mills/Calkins,
formerly a long time resident of West Cape May, NJ, died Monday,
October 12, 2001 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. She was
73.
Daughter of John and Julia Rutledge Davis, she was
born October 15, 1928 in Milanville, PA.
She was elected and served one term as commissioner
and one term as mayor of West Cape May, NJ. She was a lifetime volunteer
for the Mental Health Foundation; a former member of the West Cape
May Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary; a former Girl Scout leader;
and an active member of the Republican Committee of Cape May County,
all in West Cape May, NJ. She was also a member of the Calkins Ladies
Aid Society in Calkins.
Survivors include her husband, Albert, at home;
five daughters, Julie Stahle of Harrisburg, Jeanette Scheidell of
Villas, NJ, Joan Becica of Mattapoisett, MA, Helen Whalen of Villas,
NJ and Jill Ingfanto of North Cape May, NJ; a sister, Alma Misar
of Tyler Hill, PA and a brother, Orson Davis of Minisink Ford, NY;
six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Rasmussen Sons, Inc. Funeral
Home. The Rev. Lane Jones officiated. Cremation took place at the
Twin Tiers Crematory in Endicott, NY.

HELEN WESLOWSKI TENNANT
HONESDALE — Helen Weslowski Tennant of Honesdale,
died Saturday, November 3, 2001 at home. She was 80.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Taris Weslowski,
she was born March 30, 1921 in Scranton. She was the widow of Ellsworth
F. Tennant.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald and wife Elaine
and Daniel and wife Vera, all of Honesdale; two daughters, Arlene
Curtis and husband Donald of Oregon and Brenda of North Carolina;
three brothers, Stanley, Walter and Michael Weslowski of Scranton;
a sister, Sophie of Kearney, NJ; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Charles
and Peter.
A memorial service was held at the Kingdom Hall
in Honesdale. George Eroh, an Elder from the Honesdale Congregation
of Jehovah’s Witnesses, officiated.
PAUL JOSEPH VAN ETTEN
HEMLOCK FARMS — Paul Joseph Van Etten of Hemlock
Farms died Sunday, November 11, 2001 at the University of Pennsylvania
Hospital. He was 37.
Son of James Paul and Mary Grace Van Etten, he was
born in Belleville, NJ.
He attended various schools and graduated from the
Don Guanella School in Springfield in 1985. When he was younger
he lived with his family in Nutley, NJ and had resided at the Melmark
Home, Inc., Berwyn, for the past 16 years. He visited regularly
with his family in Hemlock Farms and Nutley.
Survivors include his parents; four brothers, Jim,
Bill, Steve and John; two sisters, Gracie Van Etten and Joan Sattler;
23 nieces and nephews.
A Mass was celebrated in St. Peter’s Cathedral in
Scranton. Burial was in the Cathedral Cemetery.
A memorial Mass was also celebrated in St. John
Neumann Church in Lords Valley. The Rev. Gerara L. Hawley officiated.

ETTA ISABEL VANNATTA
HONESDALE — Etta Isabel Card Vannatta of Honesdale,
owner and operator of a dairy farm in the Girdland area and a long-time
area resident, died Friday, November 16, 2001 at the Julia Ribaudo
Home in Lake Ariel. She was 93.
Daughter and last surviving member of the Norman
and Elisa Orr Card family, she was born in Milanville.
She was the oldest living member of the Milanville
Methodist Church and Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Stanton
of Port Orange, FL and Carolyn Ciccone of Hawley; two sons, Bill
and wife Kathy of Milford and Gene of Port Orange, FL; 10 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Norma and Helen
Vannatta, Kay Dennis and Esther Stephens; and a brother, James Card.
Services were held at the Hessling Funeral Home
in Honesdale. The Rev. George Gallandorm, pastor of the Milanville
Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery in
Damascus.
