MacKenzie students give and receive

By TOM KANE

GLEN SPEY — MacKenzie Elementary School students and faculty gathered on October 9 to donate $1500 to the Red Cross, which they raised by nickels and dimes and to receive an American flag and a poster from the rescue workers at “Ground Zero.” Glen Spey resident, Thomas McCormack, a worker for the New York Thruway Authority, who has been driving rescue workers to and from the site, told them of the MacKenzie students’ letter writing campaign to the rescue workers and of their efforts to raise money for the relief efforts. The school will proudly display the flag and poster in the school lobby.
