Ode to Our Ladies
in the Sky

Oh, my dear ladies, you who are no longer with us
We all painfully suffer this great loss
Your splendor was all too short lived
A number of years in the making, 29 years in existence, a mere speck in time
You were always in good company.
To the West, a gracious lady with urn in hand, welcoming the multitude seeking refuge
To the North, a proud and bold gentleman who defied the imagination in the early years of
The twentieth century.

Oh, my dear ladies, you were once enchanting demoiselles by day, sparkling jewels in the body of the night.
Countless visited you, awed by your splendor
Thousands upon thousands labored within your portals,
A tribute to the pulsating world of resources and financial prowess

All that now remains are leaden gray ashes
Hollowed frames creaking with unbridled sorrow
Souls who cry out of justice and revenge.

Oh, my dear ladies, you who no longer grace and adorn our skyline
Grant us the spirit and courage to pursue what is right and just
Give us the will to secure dignity and heavenly peace for our dearly beloved who have since
Lost their lives
And thereby bestow eternal homage to you, our ladies in the sky.
