A new Tudor
reign at DRBC
WEST TRENTON, NJ — Robert Tudor, deputy commissioner
of New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP),
has accepted the position of deputy executive director of the Delaware
River Basin Commission (DRBC), effective October 1.
In his new post, Tudor will serve under DRBC Executive
Director Carol R. Collier in helping oversee the commission’s regulatory,
planning, and management programs.
“Bob brings a wealth of talent to the commission,”
said Collier. “Not only does he possess a solid background in the
scientific arena, but over the years has demonstrated the ability
to promote environmental awareness and stewardship through education
and public participation. He’s the perfect fit.”

lecture at Dorflinger
WHITE MILLS — Wayne Conservation District Manager
Bob Muller will talk about “Wetlands, Ponds and Permits” at an environmental
program at the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary on Long Ridge
Road on Saturday morning, September 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00
a.m.
This program is free of charge and open to the
public. It will be held in the Museum building on the Sanctuary
grounds.
Since it will be an outdoor affair, suitable clothing
and footwear is recommended. Reservations are suggested to help
in planning.

Vegetables
by twilight
GOSHEN — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange
County will be holding a Specialty Vegetable Twilight meeting on
September 25, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Oszcepinski’s on
Mt. Eve Road.
There is no fee for attending.
Dr. Anu Rangarajan, discussing Cornell’s trials,
will lead the meeting. Among the vegetables that will be in this
trial meeting are Asian cabbages, tomatillos, Thai basils, dandelion,
bitter melon and cilantro. Other topics will be covered, such as
pests and cultural issues and seed sources for these vegetables.
