WASHINGTON DC — The Narrowsburg Fire Department will receive a $1,944 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Program to purchase personal protective equipment.

The Narrowsburg Fire Department joins the 320 fire departments from across the United States that will be receiving $15.3 million in grants in the fifth round of awards. Authorized last year by Congress, the Assistance to Firefighters Program offers $100 million in grants to rural, urban and suburban fire departments for equipment, training and fire prevention programs.
