Cochecton station dedicated

COCHECTON — Civil War re-enactors are pictured portraying the families of two brothers from Fremont who fought on opposing sides. Pictured, from left, are: Dennis and Cathy Bernitt, as the northern couple, and Jim and Terri Richardson, as the southern couple.

The foursome was on hand on August 18 to help the Cochecton Preservation Society formally dedicate the old Cochecton Train Station. The station was dismantled from its former site in the hamlet and assembled on Route 97 near the Newburgh-Cochecton Turnpike.
