Ring that bell

ELDRED — The first official ringing of the Highland Town Hall bell was held on Sunday August 19. Kendall Worzel, age four, below, and Bruce Worzel of Worzel Construction in Highland Lake were assisted in the effort by Highland Supervisor Allan Schadt and Councilman Joe McDonald, pictured left to right.

The town also honored the winners of the Highland town logo contest during the afternoon ceremony. Supervisor Allan Schadt presented prizes, $100 to first-place winner, Robert Galanakis, and $50 to runner-up, Lindsay Giuffrids.

Because of the outstanding design logos submitted, the town decided on two awards.
