Tusten to hold open house at new barn

By TOM KANE

NARROWSBURG — Now that the new 5,600 square foot, $300,000 town barn is finished, the Town of Tusten Board will hold an open house for the public to view the facility. The date is set for Sunday, October 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The building is located on Route 97 at the site of the former transfer station. Refreshments will be served.

In other board matters at the Town of Tusten Town Board meeting on August 13, Supervisor Dick Crandall announced that the 16’ octagonal gazebo for the new park overlooking the Narrows at the Interstate Bridge will arrive on August 23. The $4,200 structure was paid for by Tusten’s portion of a $50,000 state grant secured by Senator Bonacic and administered by the Upper Delaware Council. The park is located to the right of the Interstate Bridge on property that was recently deeded to the Town of Tusten from the state of New York.

Crandall also praised the Narrowsburg Beautification Group for its efforts in improving the look of the town. The Narrowsburg Garden on the River project was part of the 2001 Sullivan Renaissance beautification initiative.
