MONTICELLO — Visitors at the Sullivan County
Government Center are pictured sharing the intimate hall lighting
on August 9.
Sullivan, which spends more than $1 million
annually on electrical service, received an appeal from New
York State Electric and Gas (NYSE&G) to reduce its consumption,
Public Works Commissioner Peter Lilholt said. County officials
cut back on interior lighting and air conditioning in all
facilities during the heat-waved-prompted power emergency.
