Pledging allegiance MONTICELLO — Twenty-three Sullivan County residents took the oath of allegiance to the United States of America in the Lawrence H. Cooke Courthouse on August 14 to become American citizens. The last swearing-in ceremony occurred in 1955, in the same room of the courthouse.
