Damaged roads
to be repaired

By TOM KANE

NARROWSBURG — The Town of Tusten Board of Supervisors accepted bids for the reconstruction of sections of Homestead and Deep Hollow Roads, which were washed out during a storm on August 11, 2000.

Bids to repair Ackerman Road, which had to be closed after the same storm, will soon be issued, according to Tusten Supervisor Richard Crandall. The actions took place at the board meeting on July 9.

In other town matters, the board approved a wellhead protection law that will require people in the town not to dispose of toxic liquids and petroleum products on their properties.

The meeting was adjourned until 7:30 p.m. on July 23 in order to open bids for the reconstruction of Brook Road.

The town will be reimbursed for the reconstructions by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
