If
you can’t take the heat check out ‘The Kitchen’
By TRACY DENMAN
JEFFERSONVILLE — The Kitchen is no
longer a place you want to stay out of when it applies
to the new restaurant in Jeffersonville owned by Jill
Rowe and Randy Florke.
Rowe and Florke, both originally from
Manhattan, met when Florke sold Rowe her new house
in Youngsville two years ago. Florke now lives in
Fremont Center.
Shortly before she moved to Sullivan
County Rowe had the idea to open her own business.
She soon made Florke her partner and her dream of
The Kitchen became a reality almost three weeks ago.
Although neither lives in Jeffersonville they wanted
the restaurant there because Rowe said, “It’s our
town and we do all our shopping here.”
The Kitchen is located along Main Street,
across from the gas station. Monday through Thursday
hours begin at 6:00 a.m., with a short break between
3:00 and 5:00 p.m., and then from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00
p.m., and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. 9:00 p.m.
The menu consists of a southern-based
food style including salads, sandwiches, hot dishes
etc. Local customer Daniel Naughton said, “It’s a
different food style but very good.”
Also look for a new menu every season
and new daily and dinner specials coming soon. For
more information call 845/482-9332.
