Golfing for Gouse scholarship

MILFORD — The Pike County Chamber of Commerce annual John Gouse Memorial Golf Outing will be held on July 15, at Woodloch Springs.

A share of the proceeds each year goes to the John Gouse Scholarship Fund, created two years ago in memory of Gouse, a former chair of the event and a past president of the chamber.

The committee, chaired by Ken Winters and Michael Hunt, has already secured the support of several corporate sponsors: Belle Reve, Eastern Propane, Penn Star Bank, Ed Nikles Custom Builders, Pike Online, Progressive Health and Wayne Memorial Hospital. Compliments of Milford Chrysler, there will be a hole-in-one opportunity to win a three-year lease on a Jeep Wrangler.

There is still room for more tee sponsors ($50) and players. The cost per player is $95, which includes refreshments on the course and dinner. The format is captain and crew scramble. The event begins with registration at 12:00 noon and a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
