Youth recreation grant applications due

LIBERTY — If you believe there should be more activities for young people in Sullivan County, or that special programs should be targeted to meet youth needs in your community, here is a chance to apply for money to provide those services.

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services is funding youth recreation, service and delinquency prevention projects for the year 2002. The Sullivan County Youth Bureau is sponsoring an informational meeting for organizations that provide services to children to prepare their grant applications.

Eligible applicants include private non-profit organizations, schools, municipalities or partnerships of organizations working together.

Organizations must respond no later than Monday, May 14, to arrange to attend the meeting on May 15, at 3:30 p.m., at the Youth Bureau office in the Shared Clinic Facility at the Human-Services Complex on Community Lane in Liberty.

Completed applications must be submitted to the Youth Bureau no later than June 30. The Youth Bureau will provide assistance, by appointment, on writing your application.

For more information call Ann Weinberg, Youth Bureau Director, at 845/292-0100, ext. 2792.
